Keith Zabela is the Managing Partner in Burleson LLP’s Pittsburgh office. Keith has managed Burleson’s Oil and Gas Title and Rapid Response Due Diligence Practice Groups for the Appalachian region since the opening of the Pittsburgh office in 2009. Keith was drawn to practice law in the energy industry by its fast-paced growth and dynamism, and he joined Burleson for the opportunity to work for the world's preeminent exploration and production companies as they develop the Appalachian Basin. His practice is focused on oil and gas title, operational issues, and transactional matters. These matters include advising clients on due diligence, leasing, acquisitions and divestitures, operating agreements, joint development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, royalty issues, curative matters, and all other facets of day-to-day operations.
Before joining Burleson LLP, Keith focused his practice on real estate, general business, and title insurance law. He represented some of the nations' largest title insurance companies in the resolution of title claims involving lien priority, estate, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and other title issues. He has analyzed numerous title insurance claims and advised the risk management departments of several major title insurance companies. He also represented large commercial lenders in multi-state transactions where he conducted due diligence and prepared all documentation in conjunction with those transactions. Additionally, he has represented individuals and corporate clients in the areas of real estate, business, contracts, estate, family, landlord-tenant, and trademark law.
